Climate change adaptation assignments
Senior consultants from Steffensen Consult ApS have been involved in projects and programs targeting local level climate change adaptation interventions in more than 15 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific over the past decade, supported by governments and various development partners such as e.g. the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), the World Bank and Danida.
The engagements have covered analytical work, development of concept notes for program design, design of projects & programs, development of funding agreements, guidelines and manuals, intergovernmental fiscal transfer of funding targeting climate change adaptation, performance assessment systems and procedures and monitoring systems, as well as publications on lessons learned and international experiences. The support has targeted all tiers of governments, with special attention on the sub-national governments’ roles and financing options in the area of strengthening local level resilience, and has covered support to establishing of effective institutional framework, financing models and flow of fund mechanisms.
Consultants under the company and in collaboration with others, have been engaged in the design of the LoCAL Climate Adaptative Living Facility – “LoCAL” from the beginning in 2010, and contributed to various publications and guidelines on the subject including the enclosed.
